Manitoba Employment Insurance

Manitoba Employment Insurance or EI for Employment Insurance provides a temporary benefit for anyone who is a resident of Manitoba Canada who has lost their job through no fault of their own.  An example of someone who is eligible for Manitoba Employment Insurance or Unemployment Insurance is someone who works in a seasonal profession, or with the down economy has lost a job due to a layoff.  A person who is fired from their job for cause or one who quits their job would not be eligible for Manitoba Unemployment Benefits.  Unemployment benefits are delivered by Service Canada to residents of Manitoba who are eligible for unemployment compensation.  To be eligible for unemployment insurance you must have been without work for 7 consecutive days and be within the qualifying period to ensure your eligibility for Manitoba unemployment insurance.

Manitoba Employment Insurance

You can apply for EI or Employment Insurance at the online website servicecanada.ca or by visiting a local Service Canada Centre unemployment office.  Be sure to ensure you are eligible and that you follow all the rules to ensure your unemployment benefits are not reduced or cut.  Be sure to apply for Manitoba Canada EI within 4 weeks of losing your job to maintain your eligibility for Employment Insurance.  You can receive Manitoba EI benefits from 19 to 50 weeks and in some cases you can apply for an extension of unemployment benefits up to 104 weeks.
